About one third of government land is being encroached and grabbed as well, which comes to the tune of 41, 303 acres and is worth about Rupees 1.03 lakh crores. Mr. Ramaswamy who heads the joint committee of legislature comprising of 17 members which was appointed with the sole objective of unearthing the land encroachments in Bangalore and adjacent areas in 2006 and 2007 opined that the value of the land encroached is actually worth Rupees 1.03 lakh crores. There have been protesters for this land encroachment led by freedom fighter Mr. H. S. Doreswamy which has gained some momentum for which the government has also decided to appoint two Deputy Commissioners which is in addition to an already existing one which will accentuate the process of recovering the encroached land of the Bangalore Urban District.
This was decided by the Chief Minister Mr. Siddaramaiah who was the chair-person of a high level meeting for the review of the implementation of the committee headed by Mr. A. T. Ramaswamy on government land encroachment.
The Law and Parliamentary affairs minister Mr. T. B. Jayachandra said about 34, 000 acres of government land has been encroached in Bangalore Urban District alone. The encroached land includes lakes and grazing lands as well. The instructions will be duly issued to the Deputy Commissioners to demolish the buildings that have been illegally constructed and recover such lands.
The bigger land grabbers with encroachments being 50 to 200 acres will be given the highest priority to recover the lands from them. The deputy commissioners will be instructed to act against these big land encroachers. The government announced that action would be taken against the officials if it was found that they acted in favour of the land encroachers.
It was decided by the state government to get rid of the post of Special Deputy Commissioner as there were allegations that there had been a disposal of 8, 000 cases related to land disputes with allegations of showing extra favour to land grabbers. Such cases would be unearthed and reviewed and appropriate action against concerned officials would be initiated if found guilty of favouring land encroachers. Following all these developments, the hunger strike launched by many social organizations under the leadership of freedom fighter Mr. H.S. Doreswamy for the demand of the implementation of the report submitted by A.T. Ramaswamy was withdrawn on Wednesday.

ReplyDeleteThere are so many people are having in India who is usurping lands from the poor farmers by paying few amounts to them or by giving dhamki(raudism) to those farmers Or else forcefully building the apartments or office at the farmer places. Our Commissioners take out those file which are registered in the FIR about those robbers and by disputing those land which is already built by illegal registration. Hats of our Govt authorities for saving the life of Farmers…

The local mafia or goons are doing this type of nusence activities.To stop this illegal activities government has made committees. The DC ‘s are doing great job by recovering the lands from the grabbers. After these rules government has already recovered more than 1lakhs crore lands.

It’s difficult to buy the lands in Bangalore because we can’t trust on the agents and on one who is selling the land but where as TGS is one of the leading online portals which is selling the lands or sites all over this city at very reasonable price with all the legal authorities of the property documents.

ReplyDeleteAs per my knowledge few plan of action are ready to strike out land mafias by the District Commissioner, how ever the critical part of this encroachment recovering is fight against the land sharks who made duplicate document and claiming for ownership in government land, many Government officers had helped them to do so.

DeleteIn India Land grabbing profession is very old fashion. Mainly the highly status people who has money and man power both they are doing it. Now the DC's got many this type of cases out skirt and inside the Bangalore. More than 1 lakh Cr money land are grabbed by the local goons, who has the support from some political party.

As a human we can not destroy their living area before providing a suitable place to shift them so the first target for the Government should be recovering from those people who have made duplicate registration and enjoying it.

ReplyDeleteHi Karunakar, only by appointing couple of DC is not the solution of this situation the government need to supervise their work and prepare proper reports on them and for your information these DC are appointed in August and till October 168 acres were recovered then again to speed up this process two more DC were appointed to demolish all illegal buildings constructed in government land but yet the process works like creeping on the ground because of the hunger strike and protests made by the support of few social organization and political parties. Here only by taking a single step is not enough the Government has to take several steps to stop land encroachment from these land sharks.

So that DC’s has to take actions on them by the help of the legal documentation verification from the Land owners. So that it will become very helpful for the poor as well as for middle class people. It’s really a serious issue for which government should take some punishable action. This type of unsocial work of land grabbing activity has been running from last 200yrs. So now this is the right time to take a challenging step against the land grabbing for recover all these lands and gives back to the respective poor person who belongs to these lands.
